Looking for Alibrandi - Melina Marchetta This is the second book I've read by Melina Marchetta, the first being Jellicoe Road which was beyond amazing.

Marchetta has a way with keeping drama from turning melodramatic. While some events were predictable, others were astounding. There are some powerful emotions in this book. The family dynamics really pushed this up above the average YA book. Many ignore parents and extended family. I'm glad this didn't. Reading about Jospehine's mother and her grandmother was really interesting.

Overall,Looking for Alibrandi was a very good YA novel.
